The chamber supports your needs for better educated current and future employees with programs such as:

• The Dollywood Foundation’s Imagination Library (Meigs County was the 9th in the state to join)
• The League of Extraordinary Teens (a teenage program supporting the Imagination Library)
• Annual Scholarship to Tennessee Technology Center in Athens for a Meigs County Student ($500)
• Workshops and Training in many areas through a partnership with the Southeast TN Women’s Business Center, TN Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development, and local Health/ Emergency Management/Law Enforcement officials – we will soon be offering classes to help employees move up to another level in their field

The chamber is also happy to assist with ribbon cuttings, open houses, and other special events hosted by our members.

In 2007, we continued a process of growth that we had started in 2006. In the coming year, we plan to continue to raise the bar to an even higher level of success. Our mission statement is “to make Meigs County and Decatur a better place to live, work, and visit thru economic and community development by promoting and enhancing business, industrial, social, civic, and educational interests”. We plan to implement many new and exciting programs this coming year that will give you the chance to meet new and existing businesses and also learn what is available in our community. We have made many changes in the past year to help us begin to grow into a Chamber of which we can all be very proud.

• We are an organization with a 501(c)6 IRS non-profit status.
• We have partnered with our newly implemented Industrial Development Board.
